Protecting your bedroom privacy

Protecting your bedroom privacy

Ever felt like putting up a ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign outside your bedroom – similar to the ones we see outside a hotel room? The bedroom is one of the most private parts of a home and it is important to maintain its privacy. Of course, putting up a ‘do not disturb’ sign may not be the ideal way to go, but what else can be done to maintain the privacy of your bedroom?

One solution would be to have your own personal changing room inside your bedroom. But this is not always possible for everyone. The second best solution is to use a curtain, like the ones in trail rooms. You can use a heavy, thick curtain for this so that it won’t move easily with the wind from your fans. Today there are several different types of curtains available in the market. A very popular option is the foldable curtain with strings to pull it down. It has plastic flaps but you can also opt for the ones made from cloth.

Another very interesting way to create a little space of your own in the bedroom is by using room separators like the JORDET room dividers available at the IKEA stores. Such dividers are also portable, making them more useful than a curtain which is usually a more permanent fixed. Room dividers are also an inexpensive way of saving space as they can be fold & stored whenever not in use. You can use them in different patterns and colours as per your room décor.

What are you waiting, put up a little wall inside your four walls and get some space of your own.
