You might have plans for a cosy evening with your significant other or friends for Valentine’s Day… Or maybe you plan to spend time with your entire family. Either way, there’s one tradition that’s hard to give up: the must-do Valentine’s Day movie!
Here’s IKEA’s list of some all-time romance favourites for you and your loved ones to enjoy!
When Harry Met Sally
Get some big bowls of popcorn ready and sit back with Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal. This classic rom-com explores the story of two best friends who spend many funny and extraordinary years together, on the verge of becoming something more until one fateful scene that will leave you wishing for more.
Maid in Manhattan
A timeless classic no matter how many times you watch it, this movie never enough. A satisfying combination of good times and bad times and the in-between.
This is the story of a single mother, Marisa Venture (played by the wonderful JLo), who works as a maid in a Manhattan Hotel. She’s thrown headfirst into a twist of mistaken identity when she meets Christopher Marshall, a rich political dynasty scion, who quickly falls in love with her.
La La Land
The movie that took the cinematic world by storm two years ago, La La Land should definitely be on your “to watch” list (or your “watch it again” list if you already have).
Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone pair perfectly in this movie, taking us through Sebastian and Mia’s journey as they are torn between doing what they love and keeping the fabric of their relationship together.
Grand Budapest Hotel
For food lovers – especially those who love chocolates and cakes – make sure you have a table full of treats for this one.
This Wes Anderson movie is yet another whimsical and beautiful masterpiece that explores the adventures of the Grand Budapest hotel’s concierge Gustave, a man who might just be a little too good at his job.
1950s Brooklyn sees young Irish immigrant Eilis Lace lured in by the promise of America, and soon enough, Eilis is torn between her homesickness and her new romance, which disrupts her peace of mind.
In other words, this movie is perfect for some classic Valentine’s Day dramatics!
IKEA recommends you stock up on healthy snacks, loads of juices and water, some warm throws and cushions, and have a wonderful evening indoors with the people you love.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
